G Suite Email Forwarding To Zendesk

How to forward a G-Suite email address without creating a “User”.

Step one. Delete any existing users you want to forward. If you don’t have a user setup already skip to step 2. Go into Admin.Google.com and select users. then select the user you would like to delete. Delete the user.

Step 2. Go into Admin.Google.com and click on “Apps” then G-Suite. Next scroll to Gmail. Click on “Gmail” and scroll and click on “Default routing”.

Step 3. Select “Add Setting” enter the email you address you want to forward i.e. JohnDoe@MyCompany.com in the Recipient field. Then scroll and select “Change envelope recipient” Choose “Replace recipient” and enter your Zendesk email address i.e. Support@MyZendeskSubdomain.zendesk.com the scroll to Options and select “Perform this action on non-recognized and recognized addresses”. Click save.

Step 4. Go to your Zendesk settings and under Email click add address. Then select “Connect other” in the field enter The email address you setup in step 2 i.e. JohnDoe@MyCompany.com and click Yes, I have forwarded this address to… click next.

If you followed the steps correct you will see a notice that your ready to go!

You will notice a SPF error. Go to your Domain host and go to your DNS settings and add a TXT record with the Host set to “@” and the Value set to “v=spf1 include:mail.zendesk.com ?all” the TTL doesn’t matter. Click save and return to Zendesk and keep clicking retry until you see the Green Check by SPF.
